Starting the project

The BIRD project is now up and running. We have spoken to the team who currently manage the MooD system and they have developed their business requirements for the system. They will be looking at what functionality they want the dashboard to have and the business rules that will govern it.

We met with the team and went through the business requirements and we feel confident we can meet most of them with the SharePoint system. There are a few issues that we are exploring in more detail and we will need to look at some of the business processes for creating, maintaining and sharing data. In some cases these will have to be reviewed and changed in order to fit with the new system. However at the moment we foresee these as minor tweaks and will streamline the processes for data management.

A particular discussion point will be when we transfer over to SharePoint 2010. We have also met to discuss the other BI data that we could potentially bring into the BIRD dashboard or alternative BI we could use if the MooD system turns out to be unsuitable.
